AKSHAY ACADEMY (AKSHAYA)
(Ahmedbad Kerala Samajam Heritage and Youth Academy)
The world we live today has witnessed many a change during the past decade. The challenges and opportunities our young women and men face in the post-Liberalization era have undergone a sea change. We need to continually hone and harness human endowments to more than what it take to meet these challenges and excel in every endeavor and exceed the present and potential expectations of our society.
The interventions attempted by experts so far have, doubtless, proven inadequate to meet future needs of the society. As it is amply evident, there is an ever-increasing shortfall in Knowledge, Skills and behavior to resolve emerging complexities and unexpected situations successfully. AKSHAYA intends to bridge such ever-widening gap in this area by offering suitable intervention workshops in an effort to continually enhance the effectiveness in enriching human capabilities .
AKSHAYA (Ahmedbad Kerala Samajam Heritage and Youth Academy) , the academic wing AKS, is geared to meet these challenges. The primary focus of this academy is on improving the knowledge base of participants in respect of certain skill-sets. The training programs aim at providing an integrated view of select tenets, talent and positive tendencies that will make them more efficient, effective as well as marketable in an employment situation.

Workshop Preamble: The roots of a creative society are in basic education. The sheer volume of facts to be digested by the students of today leaves little time for a deeper interrogation of their worth. The result has been a generation of technicians rather than visionaries, each one taking a career rather than an idea seriously. The answer must be reform in our educational methods so that students are encouraged to ask about “know-why” as well as “know-how”. Once the arts are restored to a more central role in educational institutions, there could be a tremendous unleashing of creative energy in other disciplines too. Creative teaching may be defined in two ways: firstly, teaching creatively and secondly, teaching for creativity.
Creativity in the classroom – When students are being creative in the classroom they are likely to:
- Question and challenge. Creative pupils are curious, question and challenge, and don’t necessarily follow the rules
- Make connections and see relationships. Creative pupils think laterally and make associations between things that are not usually connected.
- Explore ideas and Options
- Reflect critically on ideas, actions and outcomes. Review progress, invite and use feedback, criticize constructively and make perceptive observations.
To Whom Teachers who are in the field of teaching in primary and secondary schools. Admission to the workshop is restricted to 25 persons on first-cum-first basis. Preference will be given to sponsored candidates.
